How do I know what level I'm at?

We normally assess the level with the student during the first conversation. That assesment is confirmed with a CEFR language level test available on our website.

What course levels are available?

From Beginner (A1) to Advanced (C2). Additionally, we have specialized courses, for example, Medical Terminology. The focus can be on general English, social English, business English, exam or interview preparation or entirely conversational classes. For the most effective learning experience we recommend a mix of all of these methods and subjects.

What's included in each class?

Students can expect a mix of different approaches during each class, including grammar, conversation, pronunciation, writing, reading and comprehension. Homework is assigned at the end of each class and the student is expected to complete it before their next class.

How long does each course last?

We work with the students' individual learning ability, so course duration may differ from one student to another. Progress depends greatly on how frequently students take their classes, do their homework and put what they learn into practice.

Can I change levels if the class is too easy/difficult?

Yes. Tutors are attentive to ensure students are learning at the most appropriate level.

How many students are in a class?

All classes are personalized. One tutor for each student.

Do I need to buy textbooks or materials?

No. Our tutors and our platform have all the necessary materials for class. We add new materials and lessons all the time.

Can I choose my own tutor?

Yes. However, we recommend using the tutor initially assigned to you, as we match the tutor's teaching style and personality to best fit the student's needs. If you have a varied schedule for your English classes, we cannot guarantee that you will have the same tutor for each class.

How frequent and how long is each class?

Each class lasts one (1) hour. Frequency is also discussed and agreed upon with the student. We strongly suggest a minimum of 1 to 2 hours each week for a productive learning experience.

When are classes scheduled?

It is recommended that classes are scheduled for the same day and time each week. We know that business travel and varied work hours can make scheduling tough. We are happy to work closely with you to find a class time that fits your busy schedule (based on availability).

What happens if I'm late or miss a class?

If you need to be late, please notify your tutor as soon as possible. We cannot add extra time to the end of the class to make up for lateness. Also, if you miss a class you were scheduled for (a "no-show"), the lesson will still be counted as a full lesson from your total lesson hours.

Can I cancel or reschedule a class?

We offer flexibility to reschedule! Just make sure to notify your tutor that you need to cancel or change the class time at least 12 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 12 hours' notice may result in the lesson being deducted from your plan.

What happens if I buy a plan but don't schedule any classes?

Classes must be completed within a reasonable time frame. Unless otherwise agreed, plans will expire as follows:

5-hour plan: 6 weeks from purchase date
10-hour plans: 12 weeks from purchase date
20-hour plan: 24 weeks from purchase date

Note: We highly value our students' time, so we will never schedule two classes at the same time.

6. Online Learning

What platform do you use for online classes?

We use a 100% web-based platform designed specifically for teaching. The main feature is an interactive whiteboard where both you and your tutor can write, draw, and share documents together. The platform also includes a chat tool with a helpful built-in translation feature, making communication simple and immediate during your lesson.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Our platform is 100% web-based.

What happens if I have technical problems during class?

We will work with you to help resolve any technical issues you may encounter during class. Before starting your first class, we will provide you with a document with tips and suggestions to help you have the best possible learning experience.

Are classes recorded?

No video is recorded. However, the materials, whiteboard information, and chat comments are saved in the class and you can return at any time to review past classes.
